The Morin Khuur Player
"The Morin Khuur Player" is a deeply personal interpretation of the Mongolian Morin Khuur (horse-head fiddle). In our culture, it is said that this instrument is alive and possesses a spirit of its own, as its strings are crafted from the mane and tail of a horse. It is whispered that a perfectly tuned Morin Khuur can even play a melody when touched by the wind.In this artwork, I explore the instrument's vast emotional range. Through a vibrant clash of bold colors, I depict a musician playing the Morin Khuur, blending the fast, aggressive tempo of modern rock music with the gentle, soulful melodies of the fiddle. The interplay of colors that bleed into one another—yet remain distinct—symbolizes the tension and harmony between the rapid pace of contemporary life and the timeless rhythm of our nomadic heritage.
