After bandits humiliate Shanks and he refuses to fight, angry Luffy raids their chest and eats the Gomu Gomu no Mi — boom, rubber body 💥, but now he can't swim 🌊. When the bandit leader tosses him to sea, a Sea King appears 🦈 and Shanks dives in, losing his left arm to save Luffy. It's Luffy's first lesson: real strength isn't showing off, it's protecting your friends.🏴☠️ In one go: Luffy fishes a panicked Koby out of trouble and learns he's been stuck scrubbing decks for Iron-Mace Alvida for 2 years because he's too scared to run 💦 — Luffy, being Luffy, tells him to stop whining and chase his dream of joining the Marines instead. When the vain, club-swinging Alvida 💄🔨 rolls up, Luffy just grins, stretches — GOMU GOMU NOOO — and BOOM! 💥🥊 one Gum-Gum Pistol sends her flying, and Koby finally gets the guts to leave. It's also the first time we see the Straw Hat Jolly Roger ☠️👒 pop up. It is a comic book and this is chapter 2.
