The Athletic Armor BlueprintSam | 6'2" / 81kg / 45 Years Old. Not a trainer. Just a guy who got sick of being bloated on a standard bulk. Clean eating (no OCD tracking) + a 4-day athletic primer & strength split. The Reality CheckLook, let’s be completely honest out of the gate: I have absolutely zero fitness qualifications. I’m not a personal trainer, I’m not some online fitness guru, and I'm definitely not trying to sell you a magic pill.My name is Sam. I'm 45 years old, 6'2", and hovering right around 81 kilograms. Like a lot of blokes who love the gym, I’ve chased a lot of different training styles. Not that long ago, I was following a strict, traditional bodybuilding split. It’s the standard textbook advice—and to be fair, it works. I built decent muscle and strength. But then I decided to bulk. And as you can see from my older photos, I took the phrase 'dirty bulk' a bit too literally. I ended up heavy, puffy, completely bloated, and with absolutely zero definition.Clawing your way back from that isn't fun. But it forced me to completely rethink how I approach my body. I didn't want to live on a miserable, obsessive diet, and I didn't want to be stiff and aching at age 45. I wanted to be completely pain-free, carry visible abs, and actually enjoy my training without turning my life into a miserable math problem. So, I experimented. I ditched the rigid bodypart splits and engineered a 4-day athletic routine focused on high-performance mechanics, joint resilience, and raw power. On the food side, I don't track a single calorie. Full disclosure: I don't drink and have been sober for 11 years. But the real game-changer happened when I started taking my gut health seriously. I dumped a massive amount of inflammation and stubborn water weight almost immediately. For me, that meant strictly removing dairy, sugar, and simple carbs for three months. It wasn't fun, I won't lie to you. Today, my gut is well on its healing journey; I still don't touch dairy, but I'll occasionally have a treat and I eat white rice a few days a week. I’m not OCD about it, I just eat clean. It sounds boring, but if you want to know that side of my journey, I highly recommend looking into your own gut health and yeast balance. If you want to know exactly what I did there, I’m happy to tell you—but I gotta warn you, it takes some grit.I don't have a certificate to show you. What I do have is a personal blueprint that completely reversed my worst physical phase and built an elite, functional, pain-free physique at 45. If you already have a baseline of strength and you're sick of feeling bloated, stiff, and sluggish, you can run my exact 4-day template. No BS, no calorie math—just the exact homework that worked for me.
