You are not primarily a human being but the source dressed in human form; body and mind are objects, while you are always the subject, the witness that has no colour, shape or feeling. He notes that even great teachers like Ramana Maharshi, Nisargadatta and Ramesh slipped in and out of this seeing, and that it cannot be stabilised by effort, only by grace. No relationship, money or object can satisfy the inner hunger, because what desire really seeks is the moment of non-desire, the contentment that is our true nature. With humour (a car breaking down in the Alps) he shows how that contentment stays untouched by events. He dismantles reincarnation, the soul, karma and cause-and-effect as beliefs of the mind, and shows that every action, anger or love is impersonal: we are being lived by life. Everything is the divine manifesting out of nothingness, here and now, and true seeing destroys every belief.
