KeystoneMCP | Production Context MCP Server
KeystoneMCP is a local-first production-context and project-management MCP server that gives AI assistants persistent memory for creative projects.Connect it to Claude, Codex, or another MCP-compatible AI client to provide reliable context about projects, tasks, assets, versions, dependencies, workflow rules, approvals, and next production steps.KeystoneMCP can create profile-based project folder structures, establish naming and path rules, and tell the AI exactly where source files, working files, reviews, publications, and deliverables should be saved. It acts as the authoritative project-context layer across sessions. It does not replace your creative software or aggregate every tool. Your AI consults KeystoneMCP for production state while connecting directly to Houdini, Maya, Nuke, Blender, ComfyUI, and other tool MCPs.Suitable for VFX, animation, game development, graphic design, photography, marketing, and other creative-production workflows. What It DoesKeystoneMCP helps an AI assistant understand: What projects, assets, shots, deliverables, and tasks exist Which versions are current or approved What depends on what Which work is blocked or ready How project folders should be structured Where source, work, review, publication, and delivery files should be saved What the next valid production step is What could be affected when something changes Your AI client consults KeystoneMCP for project context, uses creative-tool MCPs directly, and records completed work back into persistent production state.Key Features Persistent project state across AI sessions Structured production graph Assets, production units, tasks, versions, and dependencies Current and approved version tracking Workflow templates and recommended next actions Preflight checks and task blockers Downstream impact analysis Naming and path rules Source, work, review, publication, and delivery file roles Compact AI context packets Action and audit history Film & Animation profile Game Development profile Creative Production profile Profile-based project and folder creation Existing-project folder import Filesystem-first storage Local, external-drive, and mounted NAS project locations Browser-based production console Search, filtering, and pagination for larger projects Light, dark, and operating-system themes Local stdio MCP connection Authenticated remote MCP for trusted local networks Named viewer, editor, and administrator accounts Personal, revocable API and MCP tokens What You Need Python 3.11 or newer Node.js 18 or newer; the current LTS release is recommended A compatible AI client with MCP support macOS or Linux Windows users currently require WSL Optional separate MCP servers for applications such as Houdini, Blender, Maya, Nuke, ComfyUI, or other creative tools Creative software and third-party MCP servers are not included.InstallationAfter downloading and extracting KeystoneMCP: Open Terminal.
