DEQ / DAQ — FORM STUDYThis work is rooted in Deq / Dap symbols, body markings historically inscribed on the skin of ancient communities in Şanlıurfa, Turkey.Deq is not decoration.It is identity.A belief system, a form of protection, a carrier of memory.These symbols existed before written language.They were not meant to be read, but to be carried.They lived with the body — and disappeared with it.This project reinterprets these forgotten symbols through 3D modeling and texture, translating them into the contemporary digital realm.It does not revive them — it relocates them in time.Skin becomes surface.Needle becomes geometry.Pain becomes form.The resulting structures are not objects.They are manifestations of bodily memory, re-materialized for the modern world.Each form echoes a mark once engraved on flesh, now resurfacing within digital space.This work does not preserve tradition — it transforms it to survive.Each edition is strictly limited.Like the rituals these symbols belonged to, they cannot be repeated or replicated.This is not a design product.It is a passage between body, symbol, and time.
